Another CRAZY week of football, headlined by an absolute beat down of the Dolphins by the Patriots (I am 98% confident that there will be a 16 game win gap between the 2 teams next season), rookie receivers shining (John Ross, Marquise Brown, Terry McLaurin, DK Metcalf...), and another stud performance by Showtime Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. In this post, I'm going to talk about one or two players at each position that, two weeks in, look like league winners.

Lamar Jackson - I couldn't resist. From stat lines alone, Lamar Jackson looked like two different people in weeks one and two, rushing for 6 yards in Week 1 and 120 in Week and passing for 324/5 TDs in Week 1 and 272/2 TDs in Week 2. Lamar owners can't be complaining, as he looked like a locked and loaded top 3 quarterback in both outings. If anything, the wildly different games showed how dynamic he is as a quarterback and all the ways he can beat you. Expect some bumps along the way against tougher defenses, but Lamar Jackson sure looks like the real deal.

Patrick Mahomes - 4 touchdowns! 278 yards! In the second quarter!!! It seemed like every other thing I read about fantasy football over the summer was telling me how much Patrick Mahomes is going to regress this year. 50 touchdowns is an astronomically unsustainable pace. There has been only one instance that a QB has repeated a QB1 performance. Patrick Mahomes had a bloated TD throw percentage. 2 weeks in and it doesn't look like the second best quarterback in the world (behind a certain GOAT) has skipped a beat. Don't trade this guy. He's going to carry you to a 'chip.

Dalvin Cook - Everyone knows what Dalvin Cook is capable of when he's healthy. He's an absolute menace with speed, power and vision that only a few guys in the league can match. Add that to the fact that he is on one of the run heaviest teams in football and you have a workhorse running back who will provide you a floor and ceiling that fantasy owners dream of. I mean, over 20 carries per game, 265 yards, 6.5 YPC and 3 TDs through 2 games! Sheesh man, this guy is going to be good.

Sammy Watkins - It always helps to be in the absolute perfect situation. Watkins has quarterback who can throw for 26.5 fantasy points in a single quarter, a coach who can draw up plays to get anyone the ball deep, and an offense that can not be stopped by any defense on the planet. Add in that he's averaged 12 targets as the number option on the team and has 3 TDs and almost 250 yards and you have a solid WR1 for the foreseeable future at a 9th round ADP. For those that think Watkins is due for a major hit when Tyreek Hill returns, the Chiefs have more than enough offensive prowess to keep Watkins in the high-end WR2 range.

Mark Andrews - Like with Watkins, every top tier quarterback needs someone to catch the ball. While first-round rookie Marquise Brown has exploded onto the scene as a legit WR2, Mark Andrews has been Lamar Jackson's guy in Baltimore. On 8 and 9 targets, he's topped the century mark in yardage and reached the end zone in each game. It's foolish to think that more modest games are coming against tougher defenses, but this Ravens offense looks like a force to be reckoned with and Andrews is a big reason why. By the end of the season, Mark Andrews will be in the conversation for top tight end with Kelce, Kittle and Ertz. He's a luxury at a thin position.
